LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS, OH MY!

On Saturday we woke up and the weather was beautiful so we decided to be adventurous and take a trip up to Tampa to visit Lowry Park Zoo. We invited Grandpa George and Grandma Susan to come along with us. The zoo was awesome! Parents magazine had rated it the #1 zoo in the country last year. We saw so many different types of animals. When we got to the Africa section of the zoo, Davin got to feed a giraffe two crackers and Grandpa George fed a rhino. Davin also got to pet goats and touch stingrays. Talk about a hands on experience! We also got to watch an elephant give himself a bath. The Australia section of the zoo was really neat too because it is totally catered to kids. We look forward to taking Davin back again so he can play at the water park and ride some rides. Maybe when it is not 105 degrees out!!!

RODNEY & BRENDA COME TO PUNTA GORDA

Cousins Rodney and Brenda came into town to visit us and Brenda's mother. We enjoyed a nice dinner out at Rivercity Grill and then walked around downtown and showed them Murray's new office.

MEETING CINDY AND SAVANNAH

We recently took a trip up to Largo to meet Mumzie's friend Cindy and her daughter Savannah who were visiting from Georgia. Cindy and Savannah are loyal followers of our blog, we love that!

WORLD CUP FEVER

Davin got a soccer ball from Auntie Jessica for his birthday. Daddy has really been having fun teaching Davin how to kick the ball around. Now Davin kicks any ball around the house. Who knows maybe the next Pele??? Or a kicker for the Gators???

JULIE & RYAN COME FOR A VISIT

Our friends Julie and Ryan came down from St. Pete for a visit. Ryan got to meet Davin for the first time. We had lots of fun and got to show them around our new town. We are thrilled to be living so much closer to them.

1 YEAR OLD

Hard to believe that Davin is now 1. He recently went for his 12 month check-up and shots. 5 shots actually, YIKES!!! He took those like a CHAMP. Davin currently weighs 21lbs 8 ounces and is 30 inches long. He is walking all over the place. Davin has 4 teeth. 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom.

We believe that he says a few words, but only on his terms: hi, hello, da-da, ma-ma. His favorite saying of the past month was" "plickle, plickle".

We are transitioning Davin to "table food". That has been somewhat of a challenge. I think he has a texture issue...hmmm I don't know where he gets that from. So far, bananas are his favorite fruit and he also enjoys watermelon and blueberries. He is also drinking whole milk now.

Davin is our greatest joy and we love watching him play and learn as he grows. We look forward to seeing what year#2 has in store for our little man and our family.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

4th of July is not only a national holiday but Mommy and Daddy's anniversary too. Mumzie and Papa Z came down for the day to watch Davin so Mommy and Daddy could go on the boat for some R&R. That night we all had dinner at The Crab House and watched the fireworks. We had front row seats!!! Davin started off well sitting in Daddy's lap. After a few moments thought he wasn't quite sure about it anymore and starting crying. He watched the rest of the fireworks, perfectly content, from Mommy's shoulder.

Meeting Great Aunt Joan

Great Aunt Joan and her friend Carrie came all the way from Virginia for a visit with Davin. Grandpa Jorge drove them down from Treasure Island for the day. We played at the house for a while and then enjoyed a yummy lunch at The Crab House. She said Davin is destined to be a Florida Gator.
